Quiet kitchensPosted on Tuesday 03 November 2009
Kitchens can be noisy but the cabinet doors don’t have to be.
Kitchens are meant to be a little noisy – the knife cutting gently against the wooden chopping board, the glug-glug sound of a good vino flowing into generous sized glasses, cutlery clanking its way out of the draw, and chatter over a good vintage cheese and crackers. Oh I love kitchens!
Now while kitchens are meant to be a little noisy, it doesn’t mean the draws opening and closing need to do the same. I’ve fallen in love with soft-closing mechanisms made to open with just a touch. It’s a new trend that even eliminates the handles for a more minimalistic kitchen if you prefer. These new mechanisms are made on a spring system. Love it!
